Michelle is the author of SERIAL KILLER TRIVIA: Fascinating Facts and Disturbing Details That Will Freak You the F*ck Out (2019) and SERIAL KILLER TRIVIA COLD CASES: Fascinating Facts and Chilling Details from the Creepiest Unsolved Murders Ever (2021), both published by Ulysses Press. Her newest book, THE BIG BOOK OF 1980s SERIAL KILLERS: A Collection of The Most Infamous Killers of the 80s, Including Jeffrey Dahmer, the Golden State Killer, the BTK Killer, Richard Ramirez, and More, will be released by Ulysses Press in Spring 2024.
Although she is trained as a lawyer, her passion has always been with the written word.
Michelle has been a full-time freelance writer and editor for 20+ years and is currently the Senior Editor at the Office of Communications at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. She has written for LegalZoom since 2004 and is a past Forbes senior contributor.
Michelle’s writing has also appeared at Roads & Kingdoms, Ravishly, Vice, Fodor’s, Frommer’s, The Glass Hammer, and many others. She ghostwrites legal content for law firms and attorneys.
Michelle lived in her ancestor’s medieval hilltop village in rural southern Italy for 15 years before returning to her native Pennsylvania, USA in 2018. Her blog, Bleeding Espresso, was named the Best Living in Italy blog by the readers of Italy Magazine in 2016. She has also published 52 Things to See & Do in Calabria and is the former managing editor for Gemelli Press, a boutique publisher that specializes in Italy-themed books.
A native of the Anthracite Coal Region in Pennsylvania, Michelle holds degrees from Duke University and Temple University Beasley School of Law. In addition to consuming true crime stories in all media forms, she enjoys yoga, meditation, creating worlds with her daughter, and taking long walks with her rescued hound.
