I have been reading and writing stories for as long as I can remember, imagining and building worlds far away from my childhood home in the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania.
My true crime writing is driven by a lifelong fascination with criminal minds, motivations, and MOs, and I am currently working on a cozy mystery series set in rural southern Italy.
I have been a full-time freelance writer and editor for decades, most of which I spent in my ancestor’s medieval hilltop village in Calabria, the toe of Italy’s boot. My blog, Bleeding Espresso, was named the Best Living in Italy blog by the readers of Italy Magazine in 2016, and I also published 52 Things to See & Do in Calabria.
I am the mom of a human child and a rescued hound, and I am probably listening to a true crime podcast right now.
My writing has appeared at Forbes, LegalZoom, Roads & Kingdoms, Ravishly, Vice, Fodor’s, Frommer’s, The Glass Hammer, the National Italian American Foundation’s magazine, Ambassador, among others.
